Sessions available in Thai, English, Hindi and Punjabi
Hi, I'm Ash. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I provide a warm and down-to-earth space for those who feel like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Whether you are feeling burnt out, lost between cultures, or simply tired of trying to be "perfect" for everyone else, I am here to listen without judgment. I want you to feel seen and heard for who you truly are, in a space where you don't have to "perform" or hide your struggles.
I work with a wide range of difficulties, including:
- Anxiety, stress, and burnout
- Academic pressure and the drive to perform
- Identity and your relationship with yourself
- Relationship difficulties and setting boundaries
- Low self-esteem and building confidence
- Alcohol and substance use
- Depression and low mood
- Trauma (past or recent)
- Navigating guilt through a compassionate lens
- Adapting to life changes, homesickness, and cultural shifts
In our sessions together, I aim to understand your world as a whole, rather than just the issues you are facing. This allows us to look at why certain patterns keep recurring and understand the roots of any distress or discomfort you feel.
I won't try to fit you into a box; instead, I work alongside you to figure out what works best for your unique life. Together, we will develop healthier coping mechanisms and build the self-awareness needed to create an environment for positive change.
My approach is focused on you by creating a space that is grounded and collaborative, where you can feel safe to explore, heal and grow at your own pace.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby. Before moving into full-time therapy, I spent four years working in an international school in Thailand as a Teaching Assistant and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support, which gave me a deep understanding of neurodiversity and developmental challenges.
Clinical Experience — I have worked extensively within the charity sector, supporting individuals navigating:
- Substance and alcohol use
- Childhood trauma and its impact on adult life
- Complex emotional distress
Working with Students — I have a particular interest and experience in supporting university students. I understand the unique pressures of the academic environment, including:
- Performance anxiety and the drive to succeed
- Procrastination and chronic stress
- Identity and belonging — the struggle to "fit in" and find your place within a university or new cultural setting
I grew up moving between worlds, leaving Thailand when I was very young. For a long time, I felt like I had to peel away layers of my Thai self and leave pieces of my identity behind just to blend in or meet the expectations around me. This kind of grief is quiet — it's the feeling of mourning the person you might have been if you hadn't always been forced to change. My work is about exploring those lost roots and finding ways to soothe the ache of displacement, helping us grow even when 'home' feels hard to define.
